Who can join?

Green check mark
  • Age range: 18+ 
  • Patient has a natal penis (not a neophallus)
  • Patient has ED: defined as IIEF-EFD of 25 or less; and EHS ≤ 2 on at least 50% of sexual encounters
  • Patient understands and is able to articulate necessary study procedures and tests. 
  • Patient has the mental capacity to provide written and verbal informed consent. 
  • Patient endorses the ability to comply with study procedures throughout the duration of the study. 
Red X
  • Placement of a penile prosthesis (malleable or inflatable type). 
  • Have a serious medical condition/illness that makes safety or compliance with study procedures and/or engagement in sexual activity inadvisable in the opinion of the PI. 
  • Untreated severe psychological disease (e.g. psychosis, bipolar disorder).

How you can help

Participation in this study will help researchers identify which patients are most likely to benefit from low-intensity shockwave therapy (LI-SWT) for erectile dysfunction and which patients may be better suited for other treatment options.

FAQ's

One year in total, seven in-person visits, three remote visits.

The study consists of a seven in-person visits: baseline visit (Visit 1) and six treatment visits following the baseline visit (Visits 2-7). The remote follow-up phase (Visits 8-10) of the study consists of surveys at three timepoints: Visit 8 (3 months), Visit 9 (6 months), and Visit 10 (12 months).
