The 15th Asia-Pacific Prostate Cancer Conference was held this year in Melbourne, Australia.  This event brought together world leaders in prostate cancer to share their knowledge and experience in all facets of management and treatment.  Men’s health was identified as a key priority for Australian health policy makers.  Delegates heard from Canadian, American and British experts who stated that men’s health requires a much more coordinated approach to reduce the significant burden to society of health issues affecting men, many of which are preventable.

Dr. Carroll received the Distinguished Speaker Award and presented the 2nd Patrick C. Walsh Lecture on opening day titled, “Refined prostate cancer risk assessment leads to refined treatment.”

Says Dr. Carroll, “This event connects a multidisciplinary mix of experts from the world of urology and is key to identifying areas of collaboration and focus.  It was a privilege to present this lecture in honor of Patrick Walsh.  He is a role model to me, and, is our discipline’s most distinguished member.”
