Teaching to Choose Wisely Campaign Awardee

Matthew Truesdale, MDMatthew Truesdale, MD PGY5 recently won the 2015 "Teaching to Choose Wisely" campaign, for his project "Teaching Resident Surgeons the Costs Associated with Surgical Supplies.”  The award, sponsored by UCSF Center for Healthcare Value was developed 1) to prepare clinicians to implement high-value decisions, and 2) to develop educators with focused expertise in teaching the principles and practice of healthcare value. The award was one of three given to UCSF team leaders. 

Said Peter R. Carroll, MD, MPH, professor and chair of the department of urology, “The award is well-deserved and on target for teaching high-value care and stewardship to medical trainees."
