When New York Times correspondent Gina Kolata needed an Dr Cooperbergexpert quote for an article on active surveillance for prostate cancer, she turned to Matthew R. Cooperberg, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor, UCSF Urology and Epidemiology & Biostatistics.  Her article appeared in the May 24, 2016 health section titled “More Men With Early Prostate Cancer Choosing to Avoid Treatment.”

Cooperberg was tapped for his expertise, among other doctors, for his involvement with the AUA registry.  His perspective helped explain the story behind the numbers. http://tinyurl.com/zlhudww
