Pediatric Urology Parent (PUP) Seminar

The pediatric Urology Parent (PUP) seminar is free and open to all parents. The course is presented by a pediatric urology nurse practitioner at UCSF Children’s hospital. The seminar covers a variety of topics geared towards post-potty trained children including, but not limited to:

Nighttime wetting

Daytime wetting

Urinary tract infections with or without backwash of urine to the kidneys (vesicoureteral reflux)

Pain or difficulty with urination

Urinating too often

Urinating not often enough

Constipation and stooling problems

Most parents have become frustrated and feel as though they have run out of options when trying to help their child with urinary problems. After attending this seminar you will have a better understanding of how to successfully manage these problems.

The seminar was developed to provide parents with valuable teaching prior to making a clinic appointment. The seminar helps facilitate a successful and timely treatment plan for each child. Parents may attend the seminar and schedule a clinic appointment, or simply attend the seminar and try what you learn at home.

Feedback from course participants has been very positive please download the course feedback summary for more details.

Please contact Shirkeri Badger at 415/353-2798 to make a reservation for the next PUP Seminar. The seminar is held monthly in the evening at the UCSF Medical Center's Parnassus Campus. Attendees must pre-register with Shirkeri Badger at 415/353-2798 for course details, including exact meeting date, time and location.
