Biography

Amy M Lin received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University where she graduated magna cum laude with an A.B. in Biology.  Dr. Lin received her medical degree from the University of Chicago, School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency training at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell.   At UCSF, she completed her Hematology Oncology fellowship in 2004 followed by an Urologic Oncology fellowship in 2005.  Dr. Lin joined the UCSF Genitourinary Medical Oncology faculty in 2006 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and is part of the multidisciplinary urologic oncology team of the UCSF Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer located at the Mount Zion Medical Center.  In 2005, she founded the Genitourinary Medical Oncology clinic at one of UCSF’s affiliate hospitals, the San Francisco Veterans Administration Medical Center (SFVAMC).  The SFVAMC services veterans in the Bay Area with the goal of providing veterans access to disease-specific specialized care as well as clinical trials shared with UCSF.  She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).  She has been a recipient of the ASCO Multidisciplinary Prostate Cancer Symposium Merit Award, the ASCO Young Investigator Award, and the Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB) Foundation Young Investigator Award.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Lin sees patients with all types of genitourinary malignancies including prostate, kidney, urothelial , and testis cancers.  She has a special interest in not only enabling patients to have access to cutting edge clinical trials and outstanding research at UCSF, but also has a strong interest in developing system-wide quality improvement standards in the clinical care of patients including:  1) improvement of outpatient clinical care flow, 2) improvement of patient safety, and 3) improvement of patient satisfaction with their clinical care experience at UCSF.
