Requirements

Residents are selected for our program through the American Urological Association Matching Program. The actual match takes place 2-1/2 years before commencement of our training program, thereby providing the individual with the two-year period in which to complete a required two-year general surgery training program at the University of California San Francisco. Beginning with the class of 2010, UCSF is requiring that all applicants must pass USMLE step II prior to match lists being submitted. For 2009-2010 applicants, USMLE step II scores must be received by UCSF Urology no later than Jan 3, 2010. Please see the School of Medicine website for the full policy.
