October 2014
The October 2014 issue of The American Journal of Pathology showcased research from the Paris lab and collaborators at the NIH. As an "Editor’s Choice" article, the journal featured the paper in their facebook and twitter accounts. The study looked at prognostic markers of recurrence of prostate cancer after radical prostatectomy using a FISH based assay.
Their results showed that a probe set consisting of PTEN, MYC, and TBL1XR1 would detect progressers with 86% sensitivity and 100% specificity. They plan to do a validation study at UCSF as well as look if it’s predicative earlier in the disease process for Active Surveillance patients.
