The secretary of the University of California, San Francisco division of the academic senate, announced Assistant Professor of Urology, Thomas Chi, MD, has been elected to the 2015 UCSF School of Medicine Faculty Council.
The purpose of the Faculty Council is to represent the broad interests and activities of the school. To remain true to this goal, the council is represented by faculty members from all different series, ranks, departments, and locations. Chi will represent the San Francisco General Hospital where he has been advancing urinary stone patient care since joining the UCSF faculty. The Council's agenda for the upcoming year include implementing a Chancellors’ Fund to support university projects as well as supporting new ways to improve School of Medicine resources for its faculty and students.
Dr. Chi joined the UCSF faculty of the Department of Urology in 2013 where his clinical interests include the care of patients with urinary stone disease and those in need of minimally invasive surgery. He specializes in the performance of endoscopic, laparoscopic, and percutaneous surgeries.
Says Chi, “I am honored to be serving the UCSF community as a member of the Faculty Council and look forward to finding the means to enhance the already amazing environment that comprises UCSF at a community level.”
