Michael Rabow, MD, UCSF Professor, Clinical Medicine and Urology was recently interviewed in Urologists in Cancer urging his colleagues to speak to cancer patients about palliative care at the time of a metastatic diagnosis. The article explains that palliative care is for the patient and family, and “optimizes quality of live by anticipating, preventing, and alleviating suffering across the duration of a patient’s illness.”
