UCSF Pediatric Urology is recognized by U.S. News and World Reports as the best program in Northern California and 15th overall. For 2016, the magazine rated 50 pediatric centers and ranked them using various metrics. Eighty-five percent of the score came from the hospital’s ability to care for serious urological conditions; nurse staffing and patient volume; along with other data collected from a detailed U.S. News clinical survey of children's hospitals.
The other 15 percent reflects nominations from pediatric specialists and subspecialists who responded to surveys in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and recommended the hospital for serious cases in their specialty.
Laurence Baskin, MD, Professor of Urology and Chief of Pediatric Urology underscores, “We have a spectacular team where everyone contributes—from the administrative staff, to nurses, to technicians. We are dedicated to offering compassionate and innovative care to children and families throughout Northern California.”
