Anne Suskind, MD, MS, Assistant Professor of Urology, wins an AGS 2017 Jeffrey H. Silverstein Memorial Award for emerging investigators in the surgical and related medical specialties.
This award was created to recognize emerging investigators in the surgical and related medical specialties whose research is focused on geriatrics aspects of their specialty and who are committed to a career in aging research. Dr. Suskind was recognized for her work on “Functional outcomes after "minor" urologic surgery among nursing home residents; a national study,” which the committee felt reflected new and relevant research in geriatrics. This award will be presented during the 2017 AGS Annual Meeting Award Ceremony on in San Antonio, TX.
Says Dr. Suskind, “I am very passionate about improving surgical care for frail older individuals and strongly feel that no surgery is truly "minor" in this population.”
