The study looked at prognostic markers of recurrence of prostate cancer after radical prostatectomy using a FISH based assay. Their results showed that a probe set consisting of PTEN, MYC, and TBL1XR1 would detect progressers with 86% sensitivity and 100% specificity. They plan to do a validation study at UCSF as well as look if it’s predicative earlier in the disease process for Active Surveillance patients.
