Medical student Jorge Mena won a Dean’s Prize for his work in the laboratory of Sunita Ho, MS, PhD. He was also responsible for nominating Dr. Ho as selection for the 2018-2019 Long-Term Mentor Award.
In his nomination letter, Jorge said of Dr. Ho, “…she provided close guidance, placing emphasis on the importance of curiosity and interdisciplinary collaboration…Dr. Ho encouraged me to collaborate with the rest of the lab members which included post-doctoral fellows, residents, visiting scholars, dental students, and even high-school and undergraduate students. These opportunities were extremely important because they exposed [me] to a variety of projects, at different stages, which
would later serve as the basis of my own study related to kidney stones.”
