Genital Reconstruction
Injury to the genitalia is generally associated with major body trauma, but can also be an isolated event. Even management of superficial injuries to the penile skin and scrotum can be challenging, and reconstruction of entire organs even more so.
The reconstructive staff at UCSF has significant experience in this type of complex surgery, in which skin grafting and local tissue transfer are often necessary to restore normal genital anatomy after a traumatic event resulting in genital disfigurement.
