Matthew Cooperberg, MD, MPH, associate professor in the departments of urology and epidemiology & biostatistics, will hold the newly created Helen Diller Family Chair in Urology. This endowed position was established through the Helen Diller Family Foundation’s generous support of the Prostate Cancer Research Program at UCSF.
Dr. Cooperberg has been a member of the UCSF faculty since 2009. Specializing in urologic cancer care, he is part of the multidisciplinary urologic oncology team of the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, located at UCSF Mount Zion Medical Center, and codirects the Urological Clinical and Translational Science group at UCSF. His clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of prostate cancer and other genitourinary malignancies, and minimally invasive techniques to treat benign and malignant diseases. A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Cooperberg is also an active member of the American Urological Association and the Society of Urologic Oncology. He has written over 120 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has presented his research on prostate cancer at national and international conferences.
