UCSF Urology was, once again, ranked as one of the very best urology programs in the United States according to the 2020-21 U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals survey. Its ranking of #7 in the nation makes the program #1 in the West. The rating is based on a range of factors including reputation with specialists, urology patient volume, patient survival and safety rates, nurse staffing, and use of advanced technologies.

Separate pediatric rankings released in June recognized UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals as Northern California’s top program in pediatric urology.

“Our consistent recognition as one of America’s best urology programs is a reflection of our outstanding team who share the same vision of excellence in all of our missions.” says Raj S. Pruthi, Chair, Department of Urology. “We are committed to providing the highest quality clinical care, engaging in innovative research, and providing an outstanding education for future leaders in the field.”
