UCSF Department of Urology last week honored the graduating chief residents; Drs. Avi Baskin, Meera Chappidi and Allen Simms. With raised glasses, dinner, dessert and a friendly roast from their colleagues, it was an evening of celebration.  For their dedication to developing their surgical skills and providing quality patient care, as well as their commitment to education and teaching other trainees over the last 6 years, the Dept. of Urology Salutes the Chiefs.

We are incredibly proud of this class of graduating Chiefs,” said Residency Program Director and new Chair of Urology starting July 1st Benjamin Breyer, MD, MAS, FACS. “Their commitment to our values and mission has been heartening. I know they are going to have very bright futures and will make significant contributions across the academic missions in their chosen areas”.

Associate Residency Program Director Dr. Lindsay Hampson said: “I am so proud of this amazing class of chief residents, who I know will each make a unique impact on the field, on their patients, and other future trainees. It is incredible to have witnessed their development over the past 6 years and we are lucky to have had the opportunity to train, mentor, and be inspired by them. They will always be a part of our UCSF family even as they go off to other exciting opportunities!”

All three chief residents are fellowship-bound:
