PGY1, urology resident, Sudarshan V. Srirangapatanam, MD, received the 2024-25 ZSFG Krevans Award for his excellent performance during his intern year at the Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG).

The Krevans Award is an annual honor presented to first-year residents (PGY-1) at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG). Established in 1979 by the Gladstone Institutes and named after Dr. Julius R. Krevans, former chancellor and dean of the UCSF School of Medicine, the award recognizes interns who demonstrate exceptional clinical competence, professionalism, compassion for patients, and effective collaboration with staff and peers. 

Sudarshan V. Srirangapatanam is an emerging leader making significant contributions to urological research. His work addresses critical issues such as the social determinants of health in kidney stone outcomes and the impact of surgical delays on patient care, driving advancements in the field. As a principal investigator, Sudarshan has not only expanded medical knowledge through numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national conferences but has also demonstrated a strong commitment to medical education. He excels in his role directing the Urology research group, where he mentors students in research design and methodology and cultivates collaborative research environments to foster the next generation of medical innovators.
