Biography
Leslie Parnell is a nurse practitioner who specializes in caring for patients with urological conditions. Parnell earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from the New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing. She earned a postgraduate certificate in adult geriatric acute care from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.
Parnell is a California native. After spending the first seven years of her career at New York University Medical Center, she returned to California to join UCSF. Understanding the challenges of urological problems, she enjoys managing her patients' symptoms to improve their quality of life.
Clinical Interests
She has particular interests in reconstructive urology (procedures to correct problems with structure and function of the urinary tract) and female pelvic health. She sees patients with a variety of urological issues, including recurrent urinary tract infections, overactive bladder (a condition that causes a sudden urge to urinate), urinary incontinence, hematuria (blood in urine) and pelvic pain. She also evaluates patients after surgery and assists with their recovery. To ensure the best care for her patients, she seeks to work collaboratively with doctors while also drawing on her own years of experience.
