Anne M. Suskind MD, MS, FACS, URPS Promoted to Full Professor of Urology

Dr. Anne SuskindDr. Suskind, Chief of Neurourology, Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, and Vice Chair of Academic Affairs, has been promoted to full Professor within the Department of Urology.

“Dr. Suskind exemplifies excellence in patient care, research, and mentoring,” said Chair of Urology, Dr. Benjamin Breyer. “We are grateful for her many contributions to our Department and School. Dr. Suskind is a leader locally and nationally and we are very proud of her accomplishments.”

Dr. Suskind’s research focuses on improving care for frail and older adults with urologic conditions.  Recently, she received a National Institute of Health (NIH) R01 grant titled "Risk determination and prognostication for older and frail older adults undergoing advanced treatment for overactive bladder" in addition to a competitive NIH R56 grant titled "Determinants of outcomes for older and frail older adults with refractory overactive bladder". She has received national acknowledgment for her research including, in 2023, the prestigious Mid-Career Award from the American Urological Association for her demonstration of clinical expertise, research, and mentorship in urology within 10-20 years of completing her residency training.

Dr. Suskind serves as the lead for the UCSF Department of Urology Academic Affairs and faculty mentorship programs; she is an active Executive Board member for the Society of Women in Urology, Inc., serves on the Executive Committee for SUFU: Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction and is an Associate Editor for both the Journal of Urology and Neurourology and Urodynamics and on the Editorial Board for Urology Practice. She has 100 peer-reviewed publications in her field.
