PGY2, urology resident, Peace Orji, MD, received the 2023-24 ZSFG Krevans Award for her excellent performance during her intern year at the Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG).
The Krevans Award recognizes "excellence in patient care, as exemplified by clinical competence, professional conduct, concern for patients and interaction with all level of staff, including peers." Recipients are selected by the chiefs of the various medical departments at the Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. The award was established in 1979 by the Gladstone Institutes, a privately funded, UCSF-affiliated research institute formerly on the ZSFG campus. The award is named for former UCSF Chancellor Julius R. Krevans.
Dr. Orji is from Wappingers Falls, NY. She completed medical school at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and is interested in general urology, urologic oncology, and reconstructive urology. Her favorite aspect of working at ZSFG is the privilege of meeting and caring for people who reflect the diversity of “this beautiful city,” says Dr. Orji. “I am just grateful to our patients. We are better people and physicians because we train at ZSFG.”
