Sima Porten, MD, MPH was selected as one of the final seven proposals to receive OptumLabs-funded access to its database of de-identified, linked clinical and administrative claims information.

Says Stan Rosenfeld, the group’s leader, the award was, “well deserved recognition for his invaluable contributions to the prostate cancer community.”

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are cells shed by primary or disseminated tumors. They are easily obtained with a peripheral blood draw and therefore allow for a minimally invasive way to monitor tumor progression.
